Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Developer to take a leading role in the development of BESS projects throughout Germany. Based in Berlin, you will manage projects from early-stage site identification through to ready-to-build, coordinating technical, commercial, and regulatory workstreams to ensure successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full development lifecycle of BESS projects, from site origination and feasibility through permitting and financial close.
- Identify, evaluate, and secure suitable project sites across Germany.
- Manage planning and permitting processes, including coordination with local authorities, landowners, and consultants.
- Work closely with grid, technical, and commercial teams to integrate all project requirements.
- Conduct commercial assessments, support business case development, and contribute to investment decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor industry and regulatory developments to inform project strategy and identify new opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in project development processes and best practices.
Candidate Profile:
- Extensive experience in project development within renewable energy, ideally with exposure to BESS, solar, or onshore wind.
- Strong understanding of German permitting processes, land acquisition, and project development frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects and deliver outcomes to defined timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in German and English.
